The Houston basketball team is a member of the American Athletic Conference (AAC). They have been part of the AAC since 2013 when the conference was formed, following the dissolution of the old Conference USA basketball division. The Houston Cougars have had significant success in the AAC, particularly in recent years, with strong performances in both the regular season and NCAA tournaments.
