how many scholarships for d1 basketball per team
In NCAA Division I basketball, each men’s and women’s basketball team is allowed to offer a maximum of 13 full scholarships. These scholarships can be distributed in various ways, meaning not every scholarship has to be a full scholarship. For example, a team could offer a combination of full, partial, and even walk-on scholarships, but the total number of full scholarships cannot exceed 13.
For women’s basketball, the same scholarship limit of 15 applies. So, a Division I women’s basketball team can offer a maximum of 15 full scholarships.
This limit is set by the NCAA to ensure a level playing field and to control costs across college athletics.
